Ocean Literacy Survey
Posted on Tuesday, February 23 @ 17:40:22 MST by rick

For All

WA State Science Educators,

Please take a few minutes to complete a survey developed by the Ocean Awareness and Literacy Action Coordination Team (ACT) of the West Coast Governors’ Agreement on Ocean Health (WCGAOH).  The survey will give us a better sense of how we can help educators bring ocean literacy and awareness into their classrooms. The goal is to have students understand the relevance of the oceans and their watersheds by the time they graduate from high school. The WCGAOH was signed by Governors Schwarzenegger, Kulongoski, and Gregoire in 2008.  For more information about the WCGAOH visit: http://westcoastoceans.gov.

To complete the survey, go to https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/VMPR7QX. The survey should take about 15 minutes and closes on March 31st. Your input is extremely important, and we appreciate the time you take to critically comment on our questions. By completing this survey, you are helping us further the vision of an ocean-literate society. In addition, survey respondents will be entered into a drawing to receive a prize package (one per state), which will include, depending on your location, either a boat trip for two to the Channel Islands from Ventura Harbor (California), two passes to the Oregon Coast Aquarium and a free back-wing tour of the Hatfield Marine Science Center (Oregon) or, a Pendleton wool blanket with a tribal design (Washington); each winner will also receive assorted ocean-related books, curricula, and DVDs; and many other fabulous prizes. Thank you for participating and in helping us bring ocean, coastal, and watershed topics into the broader K-12 educational arena.
